Mr Mark Bligh is a Research Associate with the UNSW Water Research Centre in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is currently attached to the project “Growth and Toxicity of Freshwater Algae in Sydney Water Supply Catchments” where mechanistic geochemical approaches are being combined with physiological studies and cutting edge molecular biology to gain new insights into the controls on and links between nutrient requirement and uptake and the production of toxins by cyanobacteria.
